Found this in a sweep for cool-looking cars on CL today.
That color is not too shabby. If wasn’t a classic VW guy I might be tempted.

the CL ad, which appears to have been Kinja’d, says it’s a 46 Chevy Fleetline.

Ah, that would explain the trim somewhat. The hood mods are still weird. I’m used to the differently dressed up Stylemasters/Stylelines for those years, and the later striped chrome on the fenders.

Vacuum assisted 3 on the tree, too. I believe those were the ones that let you shift gears essentially with the flick of a finger.
